Tragic Pennsylvania truck accidents claim lives

by | Jun 6, 2017 | Truck Accidents

Unfortunately, accidents occur on Pennsylvania roadways on a daily basis. Despite their frequent occurrence, people usually do not anticipate being involved in one. Accidents can result in physical, emotional and financial damage to any person involved. Truck accidents can be especially damaging due to the significantly larger size of these vehicles in comparison to other vehicles. Recently, a multi-vehicle accident involving two tractor-trailers resulted in the death of two people.

The Pennsylvania accident occurred on a recent afternoon on the northbound lanes of Interstate 81. The accident was extensive and stalled traffic traveling northbound on the interstate for hours. One of the tractor-trailers caught fire as a result of the crash.

Tragically, two people died in the accident. According to reports, both people who died were riding in the same pickup truck. The condition of the other drivers and the trucks are unknown at this time. Although the investigation is pending, accident reconstruction experts will focus on documenting what led to the unfortunate collision.

The aftermath of being involved in a collision can be overwhelming for any person involved and for grieving family members of deceased victims. Truck accidents often result in unexpected expenses and other financial losses attributed to the negligence of one or more parties. Attorneys in Pennsylvania familiar with truck companies can help victims and/or family members navigate their rights and options following such an accident. Victims may be able to seek compensation by pursuing insurance company claims or, when appropriate, litigating the issues in civil court.
