People make countless decisions every day. Many routine and seemingly insignificant decisions have little impact on a person’s life. Unfortunately, some people find themselves making poor choices and decisions that lead to conflict with established law. Recently, a Pennsylvania man allegedly made several poor decisions that landed him in jail. His decisions resulted in charges of drunk driving, carjacking a vehicle, reckless endangerment and aggravated assault.
Allegedly, a 51-year-old man for unknown reasons pulled a cab customer from the vehicle by her hair as it came to a stop. In an effort to help the female customer, the cab driver reportedly exited his vehicle. During the confrontation, the cab driver reported that the other man stripped off his clothes and carjacked the cab.
Witnesses reported that the naked man drove recklessly through a crowd of people, crashed into parked cars and one moving vehicle. Bystanders who saw the commotion and reckless driving apparently detained the man until authorities arrived. Fortunately, only he suffered minor injuries.
Charges of drunk driving, theft and assault can have serious consequences. He may lose his license, be ordered to pay fines and serve time in jail if he is convicted. If he has a record of other criminal offenses, it could complicate his current case. An experienced Pennsylvania criminal defense attorney can aid the man in choices surrounding his current charges to formulate the best strategy for his defense. In the event that a conviction cannot be avoided, attorneys will work to negotiate the best possible outcome.
