Around the country, campus sexual assaults have been receiving more attention. In his new book “Missoula: Rape and the Justice System in a College Town,” author Jonathan Krakauer dissects the case of alleged rape at the University Of Montana. Krakauer is also the author of “Into Thin Air” and “Into the Wild.”
In “Missoula,” Krakauer explorers the case in this picturesque small city dominated by a university with a popular football team; sound familiar, Penn Staters?
Krakauer reviewed police reports, university disciplinary proceedings, court documents and other information to explain not only the court proceedings but the campus disciplinary procedures.
Mr. Krakauer commented that “campus rape isn’t a recent epidemic, but rather a scourge that has always been there and is just now coming to light because women are being emboldened.” Anyone with an interest in the problem of sexual assault on and around college campuses may want to take a look at Mr. Krakauer’s new book.
