I recently read about a shortcut in Siri called “Police”. It can record any encounter a person has with a police officer. The recording starts as soon as a person says “Hey Siri, I’m getting pulled over.”
Anyone in Pennsylvania who is considering using that shortcut should be aware of the Pennsylvania Wiretapping And Electronic Surveillance Control Act. That Act provides that Pennsylvania is a two-party consent state meaning that both parties must consent to the recording. A violation of this Act subjects the person doing the recording to possibly being charged with a felony in addition to incurring civil damages.
